$e FCMH Employee Giving
Program was established, which
raised more than $10,300 to help
with the purchase of equipment on
the Annual Fund Goals list.
$e year 2011 also saw the
establishment of the Dr. Ralph
Gebhart Memorial Fund. $is
fund was started through a gener-
ous donation from the Washington
Shrine Club committee that had
organized the Dr. Ralph Gebhart
Memorial Golf Outing the previous
two years. $e Dr. Ralph Gebhart
Memorial Fund is a totally separate
fund within the FCMH Foundation.
$e Foundation Directors will meet
annually with a representative from
the local Shrine and a member of the
Gebhart family to review the current
hospital needs from the Foundation’s
Annual Fund Goals. Together they
will decide what equipment will be
purchased or partially supported
through monies from this fund,
always leaving a balance in the fund
so that it may continue through the
years to honor our colleague, friend
and loved one.
Last year, thanks to a very gen-
erous donation to the Foundation
from Tanger Factory Outlet Centers,
Inc., in Je"ersonville—through its
Pink Style Campaign in October—
$e FCMH Partners in Pink
Mammography Program was
established.
To all who provided a gi# to sup-
port our mission and make 2011
such a success, we sincerely thank
you for making a di"erence.

The Fayette County Memorial Hospi-
tal Foundation was recently awarded
$58,894 from the Columbus A"liate
of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for the
Fayette County Memorial Hospital (FCMH)
Partners in Pink Mammography Program.
The program was one of 34 breast
health programs that received a com-
bined total of more than $1.9 million from
Komen Columbus. The main goals of the
FCMH Partners in Pink Mammography
Program are implementation of a public
breast health awareness and educational
campaign and to provide the availability
of mammography services to women
and men within screening and diagnos-
tic guidelines, 40 and older in Fayette
County, who demonstrate a #nancial
need. The age may vary if a patient is
symptomatic or has a family history of
breast cancer.
According to breast health statistics by
county, Fayette County ranks second in
mortality from breast cancer of the coun-
ties in the Komen Columbus Service Area.
Wanting to make an impact on the
lives and health of residents in Fayette
County, team members from the hospital
and the FCMH Foundation created a task
force and began working on ideas and
funding sources for a mammography
program. They recognized that it would
take a collaborative e%ort to see a
positive change quickly, so they
created the FCMH Partners in Pink
Mammography Program.
